The Supreme Court has halted the hearing on the case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and ‘AAP’ Member of Parliament Sanjay Singh, filed by Gujarat University. It is worth mentioning that the lower court is currently hearing the case against these defendants for alleged remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s educational qualifications. The bench has ordered a hearing on Sanjay Singh’s plea, in which he has requested to transfer the case, currently being heard in the lower court, out of Gujarat. The Supreme Court has directed the Gujarat High Court to make a decision within four weeks on the plea of the ‘AAP’ defendants, which seeks to dismiss the charges filed against them by the lower court. The bench stated that the hearing is stayed until the decision of the High Court is made.
