Heavy rainfall in New Delhi on Friday resulted in severe waterlogging in various parts of the city, leading to a flood-like situation. The downpour caused significant traffic congestion on the roads, affecting the daily commute of residents, particularly office-goers. The Delhi Traffic Police promptly issued alerts to inform commuters about the affected routes, urging them to plan their journeys accordingly to avoid further delays.

Commuters at the New Delhi Railway Station were faced with challenging conditions as they navigated knee-deep water on flooded roads, often carrying children to ensure their safety. The situation was exacerbated by water filling up metro stations in certain areas, causing additional inconvenience to the public. Reports indicated that traffic disruptions were widespread, with key areas such as Anuvrat Marg, Ring Road, and Vir Banda Bairagi Marg experiencing slow movement due to waterlogging under various flyovers and underpasses.

The impact of the heavy rainfall extended to multiple locations across the city, with traffic being severely affected on roads like Aurobindo Marg, Outer Ring Road, Tilak Bridge W-point, Rohtak Road, and Mathura Road. Instances of uprooted trees further added to the traffic woes, such as on Mathura Road from Ashram towards Badarpur. Waterlogging at critical points like the Okhla underpass on Road No 13 also contributed to the congestion, highlighting the need for immediate measures to address the flooding and traffic disruptions caused by the heavy rain in New Delhi.
