Los Angeles, May 21 (Press ki taquat bureau): Payal Kapadia’s film ‘All We Imagine as Light’ has secured a distributor for its release in North America. According to Variety, Sideshow and Janus Films have jointly acquired the rights to the movie, making it the first Indian film in 30 years and the first ever by an Indian woman director to be screened in the main competition at Cannes. Both companies are planning a theatrical release for the film. In addition to this, Metrograph Pictures has acquired the North American rights to Sandhya Suri’s film ‘Santosh’, which was screened in the Un Certain Regard section. Metrograph Pictures will also distribute the film theatrically, with further release details to be announced later. ‘All We Imagine as Light’ is Payal Kapadia’s debut narrative feature, and she is known for her acclaimed documentary ‘A Night of Knowing Nothing’, which won the Oeil d’or award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival’s Director’s Fortnight.
