The Isha Foundation, led by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, has approached the Supreme Court to contest a ruling from the Madras High Court that mandated the Coimbatore Police to gather and present all case details against the foundation for further judicial review. This issue was brought forth for urgent consideration before a bench presided over by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud. Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, representing the foundation, requested a suspension of the high court’s order, highlighting that approximately 500 police personnel have conducted extensive searches at the foundation’s ashram, scrutinizing every area. In conjunction with this, the Supreme Court bench, which included Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, transferred a habeas corpus petition filed by the father of two women from the Madras High Court to the apex court, instructing that the police refrain from taking any further actions based on the high court’s directive. Additionally, the bench requested a status report from the police, as previously ordered by the Madras High Court, to gather information regarding the two women whose father alleged their illegal confinement at the Isha Foundation.
