The Allahabad High Court has put a stay on the permission granted by the Supreme Court to conduct a survey under the supervision of the District Court of Mathura at the Shahi Eidgah Mosque, which is adjacent to the Krishna Janmabhoomi site. The bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Deepak Gupta has stayed the order, which was supposed to be implemented on 14th December 2023, regarding the survey of the mosque complex under the supervision of the District Court. The bench agreed to the consent given for the survey by the Hindu parties, who claim that there are certain signs in the mosque complex that indicate it was once a temple. The bench stated that there are some legal issues involved and has also raised questions regarding the appointment of a court commissioner for the survey. However, the Supreme Court has mentioned that the hearing on this dispute will continue in the High Court. The bench also presented senior advocate Shyam Divan, who appeared on behalf of the Hindu parties, including the idol of Lord Shri Krishna.
