Following the explosion at the Majitha police station on Wednesday night, which Amritsar (rural) SSP Charanjit Singh described as a “tyre burst,” the individuals responsible, including US-based gangster-turned-terrorist Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Pashia, along with Gopi Nawanshehria and Jeevan Fauji, asserted that it was a hand grenade attack.
Previously, this group had claimed to have placed an improvised explosive device (IED) outside the Ajnala police station, which fortunately did not detonate. They also took responsibility for the explosion at the Gurbaxnagar police chowki in Amritsar. The incident on Wednesday night caused widespread panic in the Majitha area, as the blast shattered window glass and drew crowds to the scene. Police officials promptly secured the area, restricting access to the media, while senior police authorities and forensic teams arrived to investigate the situation.
