A Vistara flight en route to London from Delhi was redirected to Frankfurt following a bomb threat, which was later confirmed to be a false alarm, as reported by an official on Saturday. In a statement released early this morning, a representative of the airline confirmed that the aircraft landed safely at Frankfurt Airport. After conducting thorough security assessments, the flight was subsequently cleared for departure and arrived in London at approximately 11:40 PM local time on Friday. The spokesperson elaborated that Vistara flight UK17, which was operating on October 18, 2024, had received a security threat via social media. Adhering to established protocols, all pertinent authorities were promptly notified, and as a precautionary measure, the flight crew opted to divert the aircraft to Frankfurt in response to the bomb threat. In a related incident, Akasa Air reported that its flight QP 1366, scheduled to travel from Bengaluru to Mumbai on Friday, also received a security alert shortly before its planned departure.
