Kolkata, June 17 (Press ki taquat bureau): A tragic incident occurred when a goods train collided with the Sealdah-bound Kanchanjunga Express near Rangapani station in West Bengal, resulting in the loss of at least 13 lives and leaving around 30 individuals injured. The collision took place on a Monday, as confirmed by the police.
Following the collision, rescue operations were promptly initiated at the site, which is situated approximately seven kilometers away from North Bengal’s New Jalpaiguri station. The injured victims were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention and treatment.
The impact of the collision caused the two rear compartments of the Kanchanjunga Express to derail, as the locomotive of the goods train collided with them from behind near Rangapani station. This devastating incident has led to a significant loss of life and injuries, prompting immediate response and assistance from authorities and emergency services.
