Patiala, 5 March (Press Ki Taquat Bureau) : In the Craft-Mela organized by the District Administration, Patiala at Sheesh
\nMehal Patiala from 22nd Feb. to 5th March,2020 various stalls of wooden furniture
\nHandicrafts, food stalls & other artists of daily use & decoration items were the
\nattraction of the Mela.
\nFor the entertainment folk dances Groups from Assam, Rajasthan, Uttrakhand,
\nManipur were there on the stage in the evening & in the morning local talent of
\ndances & Singing was given the time, Dr. Preeti Yadav, IAS, A.D.C. (Development)
\n& Mela Officer explained. She also told that the Punjab Police Cultural Troupe
\nPatiala having their base at Bahadurgarh fort has also been associated for the
\ncolourful performances in the Mela for the entrainment of the visitors.
\nSh. S.R. Sharma, Dy. Director, Punjab Police Cultural Troupe, Patiala was
\ncontacted in Mela. He told that two days earlier the start of this Mela they have
\nreturned from International Craft Surajkund Mela of Haryana Tourism Faridabad,
\nwhere they got high appreciation from the Public and the administration. Their
\nTroupe is participating for the last 20 years in this Mela.
\nNow in this Craft Mela-2020 our 20 Artistes are participating with their
\nfolk traditions of Punjab in Singing, Dances & other folk forms like Bazian of
\nPunjab, Bhand of Punjab, Mela of Punjab, Folk tales of Punjab etc.
\nMr. Sharma told that every time we first start our programmes with the
\nreligious prayer like ‘Saraswati Vandana” by Mr. Karm Raj Karma & Group, or
\nShloks of Sheikhs Farid Ji by Mr. Mast Ali, then followed by Jagga, Mirza, Jugni,
\nRoop Basant, Singing by Artist Jagdish Manak with high pitch of voice. The female
\nvoice with ”Main Lajjpalan de Larr Lagi Aan”, Mahia-Tappe, Mirza, Bol Miti
\nDiya Bawea, Sufiana Singing by Miss Harwinder Kaur are praise worthy on the
\nSarangi and Dhad, Sh. Rohi Ram, Sukhdas Singh, Harinder Singh, they Sing the old
\ntraditions of Mela Kavishri. Artistes namely Nachattar Singh, Surinder Kumar<\/p>\n
Saini, Sukhdas Singh, Amit Pal Singh, Mukhtiar Singh, perform ”Bazian of
\nPunjab” on the stage, audience loudly appreciate. At the same time Mr. Sukhdas
\nSingh & Mr. Mukhtiar Singh appears on the stage as ”Bhand Mirasi of Punjab”
\nand make the people laugh a lot.
\nMr. Karm Raj Karma perform & dance with other artists Qallam of Baba
\nBulle Shah Ji ” Nee Main Kamli Yaar Di”, Mr. Mast Ali also gave the other
\nperformance ”Nee Main Pani Bharini Aan Pattno”, with the dancer artists. Both
\nMr. Mast Ali & Mr. Karm Raj Karma in the company of other artists gave of
\nwonderful Qawwali ” Main Jana Jogi De Naal”. It was also explained by Mr.
\nSharma that they have revived the folk dances of Punjab like Malwai Gidha,
\nJhoomar, Jindua & perform on stage.
\nMr. S.R. Sharma Dy. Director Punjab Police Culture Troupe told that at present
\nthe troupe is working under the command of Sh. R.N. Dhoke, IPS, ADGP, Internal
\nSecurity Punjab as a President of this troupe. Recently we have given performances
\nin the (i) International Gita Jyanti Mahautsav (ii) U.T. Tourism Day Chandigarh (iii)
\nInternational Craft Surajkund Mela Faridabad(Haryana) (iv) Craft Mela 2020 –
\nPatiala.
\nThe Troupe has already given performances at several prestigious places
\nlike Vice President of India residence, Raj Bhawans of Punjab & Haryana, Republic
\nDay celebrations. In foreign countries also like Romania, Malyasia, Hong Kong,
\nGerman, South Koria, South Africa, Cambia, China etc. Our performances had been
