T<\/span>he Allahabad High Court on Tuesday directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to conduct a survey at the Gyanvapi mosque by July 31.<\/p>\n

The ASI filed an affidavit before the High Court.<\/p>\n

The High Court also instructed the ASI not to cause any damage to the structure. A\u00a0team from IIT Kanpur will be called for a radar and GPR survey.<\/p>\n

An ASI officer: \u201cWe started survey work on Monday morning (July 24) at 9 a.m.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chief Justice said, \u201cHow much work have you done?\u201d<\/p>\n

The ASI officer said, \u201cWe have just started. We don\u2019t know the exact site.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chief Justice said, \u201c5% work has been done, assuming. Your team is there. How much more time will you take?\u201d<\/p>\n

The ASI officer said, \u201cWe can try by 31st July.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Chief Justice said, \u201cNot try. Do it by the 31st without causing any damage to the structure.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Varanasi district court on Friday ordered the ASI to conduct a survey using technologies like ground penetrating radar and excavations, if necessary.<\/p>\n
