Today\u2019s CASO was conducted in two districts including Rupnagar and SBS Nagar on the directions of Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The operation was led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ropar Range Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and SSP Rupnagar Vivek Sheel Soni in Rupnagar, while, in SBS Nagar district IGP Ludhiana Range Kaustubh Sharma and SSP Akhil Chaudhary hit the ground running.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Divulging details, Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla said that the Police teams have arrested 27 anti-social elements after registering 16 first information reports (FIRs) during the operation. The Police teams have also recovered one .315 bore country-made pistol, 331 grams of heroin and 2000 litres illicit liquor from their possession.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0He said that the strong force of 900+ Police personnel carried out CASO. Apart from arresting anti-social elements, Police teams have also arrested four proclaimed offenders (POs) and rounded up around 132 suspicious persons for questioning, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Special DGP said that the intent to carry out such operations was to instil a sense of safety and security among the common people and increase the presence of the Police force in the field to infuse fear among the anti-social elements.
