\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its anti-corruption campaign, has nabbed a revenue Patwari Nachattar Singh, posted at revenue halqua, Ablowal, Patiala district red handed for demanding a bribe of Rs 4,000.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the VB said this case has been registered against the above said revenue official on the complaint of Lachman Dass, a resident Rivas Bhramna in Patiala district.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Giving details he added that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari has demanded Rs 4,000 as a bribe in lieu of mutation of his land after the demise of his father.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The spokesperson further added that the VB unit of Patiala range has investigated the allegations levelled in the complaint and laid a trap in which the accused Patwari has been arrested red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In this regard a case has been registered under prevention of corruption act at VB police station Patiala against the above mentioned revenue official.\u00a0\u00a0He would be produced in the competent court tomorrow.
