\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its anti-corruption campaign, on Wednesday has nabbed a revenue Patwari Narjeet Singh, posted at revenue halqua, Sham Churasi, Hoshiarpur district red handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the VB said this case has been registered against the above said revenue official on the complaint of Baldev Singh, a resident village Kadiana in Hoshiarpur district.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Giving details he added that the complainant has approached the VB and alleged that the above said Patwari has demanded Rs 30,000 as a bribe in lieu of transfer and mutation of his land but the deal has been struck at Rs 25,000.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The spokesperson further added that the VB unit of Jalandhar range has investigated the allegations levelled in the complaint and laid a trap in which the accused Patwari has been arrested red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0In this regard a case under prevention of corruption act has been registered at VB police station Jalandhar range against the above mentioned revenue official.
