Sumit Joshi 28 Mar 2025 : <\/strong>Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra<\/strong> has been granted interim anticipatory bail by the Madras High Court till April 7<\/strong> in connection with his controversial video on Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde<\/strong>. Kamra had claimed in his petition that he fears for his life in Maharashtra and cannot approach the state\u2019s courts.<\/p>\n

Madras High Court\u2019s Decision<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The court ruled that Kamra must execute a bond to the satisfaction of the judicial magistrate in Vanur, Tamil Nadu’s Villupuram district<\/strong>. In his plea, Kamra stated that he had moved from Mumbai to Tamil Nadu in 2021<\/strong> and has been living there since then. He also argued that he fears arrest by Mumbai Police<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mumbai Police Issues Second Summons<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mumbai’s Khar Police Station<\/strong> had sent a second summons to Kamra on March 31<\/strong>, asking him to appear for questioning. The summons was issued after his comments about Eknath Shinde in a recent stand-up show sparked controversy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s Next for Kunal Kamra?<\/strong><\/h3>\n
