Mohali, February 14, (Press Ki Taquat Bureau): Misl Satluj, a socio-political organization committed to raising the issues of Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabiyat, will launch its \u201cPura Punjab Lehar\u201d (Inclusive Punjab Movement) campaign on February 17 at 11:00 AM from Gurdwara Amb Sahib, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali).
\nSharing this information, Misl Satluj President Ajaypal Singh Brar said that a two-week thought camp will be organized as part of the \u201cPura Punjab Lehar\u201d campaign. Inviting prominent personalities from various fields, Punjab well-wishers, intellectuals, and social workers\u2014regardless of their affiliation with any political party or organization\u2014to participate in the camp, he stated that their views will be heard, presented before a public forum, and key issues will be brought to center stage for wider discussion.
\nBrar said that over the past four to five years, Misl Satluj has been working on five key issues. Among them is the issue of the Punjab University Senate, which is fundamentally linked to Chandigarh not being under Punjab\u2019s rightful control. He emphasized that historically, Chandigarh is the capital of Punjab and should be handed over to the state.
\nThe Misl head stated that because Punjab does not have full control over its dams and rivers, its river waters are diverted to other states even when Punjab needs water the most. At other times, the state suffers from floods. However, during such situations, the neighboring states refuse to share excess water or compensate for the colossal losses caused by inundation. The latest example is the floods last year, which led to irreparable damage to crops, livestock, and the affected population.
\nTherefore, Misl Satluj demands that Punjab be granted a stronger federal structure so that it can make its own decisions and create employment opportunities for its youth.
\nAccording to Brar, there is a need to create awareness among the people on sensitive issues such as migration and environmental pollution (air and water), while combating drug abuse remains a top priority for his organization. \u201cBefore the 2027 state elections, these issues will be clearly placed before the public so that politicians taking the plunge into the electoral contest are compelled to clarify their stand and possibly present a future roadmap,\u201d he elaborated.
\nBrar stated that the aim of \u201cPura Punjab Lehar\u201d is to envision a Punjab whose capital and geographical boundaries are complete and clearly defined; whose language, culture, ethos, and traditions are preserved; where there is a spirit of communal harmony and brotherhood; where youth receive employment and justice; where air, water, and food are pure; where drugs are rejected; and where every religion is fully secure.
