As the decisive \u2018Gangstran Te Vaar\u2019 campaign enters its 171st day, Punjab Police on Friday conducted 625 raids at identified and mapped locations linked to associates of gangsters across the state.<\/p>\n
As per the information, the \u201cGangstran Te Vaar\u201d\u2014 a decisive war to make Punjab a gangster-free state was launched by the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026. Police teams from all the districts in coordination with Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab have been conducting special operations across the state.<\/p>\n
On Day 171, Police teams arrested 348 individuals held with three weapons, taking the total arrests to 46,357 since the launch of the campaign.
\nApart from this, preventive action has been taken against 307 persons. Police teams have also arrested 13 Proclaimed Offenders (POs) during the operation.
\nPeople can anonymously report information related to wanted criminals and gangsters, and also share tips on crime and criminal activity, through the Anti Gangster Helpline number 93946-93946.
\nMeanwhile, Police teams have continued its drive against drugs \u201cYudh Nashian Virudh\u201d for 496th day with 59 drug smugglers arrested today and recovered 816 grams heroin, 386 intoxicant pills and Rs 1.29 lakh drug money from their possession. With this, the number of total drug smugglers arrested has reached to 72,813 in just 496 days. As part of De-addiction, the Punjab Police has convinced six persons to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment today.<\/p>\n
