Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young Indian opener, showcased his exceptional talent by achieving his first double century on the second day of the second Test against England. Despite being in only his sixth Test match, the 22-year-old displayed a sensational performance, propelling India to a commendable score of 375 for 7 in 102 overs. This remarkable feat also earned Jaiswal the distinction of becoming the third youngest Indian cricketer to achieve a double hundred in Test cricket. Throughout his innings, he showcased his aggressive batting style, smashing 18 fours and seven sixes to reach the coveted milestone.
Vinod Kambli made history as the youngest Indian to achieve a remarkable double century against England in 1993, when he was just 21 years and 335 days old. This outstanding feat showcased his exceptional talent and skill on the cricket field. Not only did he secure this record, but Kambli also holds the distinction of being the second youngest Indian to score a double century in Test matches. He achieved this incredible milestone by scoring his second consecutive double hundred against Zimbabwe at the age of 21 years and 355 days. Prior to Kambli’s achievement, the record for scoring a maiden century was held by Sumil Gavaskar, who accomplished this feat during a match against West Indies in 1971.
