Jalandhar, March 29 (Press Ki Taquat Bureau) – The district administration on Sunday formed a team to ensure availability of essential commodities to the Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Widows and Senior Citizens. Divulging the details, The Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma said that PWD, widows and Senior Citizens are integral part of the society and administration has formed a team which will ensure the delivery of food packets, vegetables, fruits and medicines to them at their doorsteps.

He said that the administration has also set up an exclusive helpline number 0181-2459634 for them where they can call and contact the administration for any kind of help. Mr Sharma said that that the department of woman and child development and social Security will be overall supervisor of the helpline which will these people do not face any kind of the people.
He said the volunteers of Chanan Foundation will also accompany the department’ employees in the delivery of the essential commodities to the PWDs, Widows and Senior citizens.The Deputy Commissioner asked the District Program Officer. Mr Amarjeet Singh Bhullar and District Social Security Officer Mr Varinder Bains to ensure the issues of this section resolved immediately.
