Patiala : State Bank of India’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) situated at village Jassowal, Bhadson Road, Patiala becomes the first RSETI in Punjab State to conduct Financial Literacy Community Resource Person Training course under the Govt of India, Ministry of Rural Development. A valediction ceremony was concluded here today and certificates were distributed to all the successful women Self Help Group members underwent the six days Training Course which was presided over by Ms. Pooja Sayal Grewal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Patiala. The training was inaugurated on 14th October, 2020 by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development), Patiala Dr Preeti Yadav, IAS and is successfully concluded today.
Speaking on the occasion Ms. Pooja Sayal expressed her happiness on RSETI Patiala becoming the only Training Institute in Punjab to conduct this program. She said that the District Administration is providing all possible support to conduct such programs at RSETI. She said that SBI, RSETI, Patiala is working very proactively providing free of cost training to rural unemployed youth of the District in more than 60 courses. She told that RSETI is playing a significant role in the Punjab Govt’s Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yozna through skill development training. The FLCRPs trained today will provide Financial Literacy in villages so that the unbanked rural population will be benefited, said Ms Sayal.
Those present on the occasion included Lead District Manager Sh Pritpal Singh Anand, District Functional Manager (FI) Smt Randeep Kaur, Chief Manager (RACC), SBI, Patiala Shri Sudama Prasad and Director of SBI’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Patiala Sh Rajiv Sirhindi.
The Director of SBI RSETI Rajiv Sirhindi told that the training at State Bank of India’s Rural Self Employment Training Institute has been taken to the next level. Many new NACER approved Courses have been started which includes Bank Mitra for MORD Mission “One GP-One BC Sakhi”, Bee Keeping, Jute Products Udyami, Dairy Farming & Vermi Compost etc and adding to the list is FLCRP which has been starting from today. He said that the Guest faculties for these Training programmes are being arranged from various Government Agencies like Department of Horticulture, Punjab, Department of Animal Husbandry, Rauni Farm, Nabha Road, Verka Milk Plant, Patiala, Women ITI, Patiala and retired Officers of State Bank of India. We have also collaborated with many NGOs, influential persons of society and Media so that the RSETI concept should reach to every unemployed rural youth. Our vision and mission is to facilitate Skill Development for gainful employment.
