CHANDIGARH (Press Ki Taquat Bureau) Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation (PSIEC) has decided to collaborate with Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG), Singapore to design and deliver the Planning, Developing, and Managing Successful Industrial Parks Program. The virtual program, which has been underway and going on till 3rd March 2021, supports the enhancement of industrial park planning, development, and management strategies, and improves the ease of doing business and job creation in the State of Punjab.<\/p>\n
Over forty officers from PSIEC\u2019s head office and district offices have been attending the program held over eight sessions. These officers are responsible for industrial park planning, engineering, and estate services. The training program is designed to equip the officers with the skills and competencies required for key parts of the development cycle of industrial parks, including visioning, feasibility, and planning; estate management; marketing and investment promotion; and inter-agency coordination.<\/p>\n
The program is helmed by CIG\u2019s resource expert, Mr. Lim Chin Chong. Mr. Lim was formerly from JTC Corporation in Singapore, and has extensive experience in physical infrastructure, land planning and industrial estate development.<\/p>\n
Addressing the program participants from PSIEC during the opening ceremony, Sh. S.P. Singh, Executive Director & Sh. J.S Bhatia, Chief Engineer, PSIEC, said: \u201cWe hope these sessions would impart successful training and help to boost the sustainable growth of PSIEC.\u201d Sh. S.P. Singh and Mr. Wu Wei Neng, Executive Director, CIG, emphasized the importance of PSIEC\u2019s role in Punjab\u2019s development.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe development of industrial parks is a core part of economic development strategy for Punjab and PSIEC plays a major role in this regard. We are committed to support the Government of Punjab in this important work.\u201d Mr. Wu Wei Neng added. This inaugural virtual program collaboration between CIG and PSIEC falls under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Government of Punjab and CIG.<\/p>\n
Terming the Punjab Small Industries & Export Corporation Limited (PSIEC) as catapult, Sh. S.P Singh & Sh. J.S Bhatia emphasized that the Corporation has been acting as a catalyst and springboard for all round development and promotion of industries in Punjab through the development of industrial infrastructure, namely Industrial Focal Points (IFP) ranging between 50 acres to 500 acres of land at various towns and cities of Punjab. Therefore to facilitate the spirit of industry, PSIEC Ltd. provides self-sufficient industrial focal points. These industrial hubs consist of developed plots equipped with power substations & distribution networks, tele-communication facilities, residential areas for workers, common effluent treatment plants and sewage treatment plants for the clean environment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
