India defeated South Africa by seven wickets to level the two-match series 1-1 on the second day of the second and final Test here today. South Africa defeated India by an innings and 32 runs on the third day of the first Test. South Africa, who were bowled out for 55 runs in the first innings of the second Test, scored 176 runs in the second innings and gave India a target of 79 runs for victory. India won by scoring 80 runs for three wickets in 12 overs in five sessions. The Indian team was bowled out for 153 runs in the first innings.
