New Delhi, March 18 (press ki taquat bureau):   In an effort to ensure a fair playing field in the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission has taken action by removing several officials. This includes the home secretaries of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, as well as the director general of police in West Bengal. Additionally, the secretary of the general administrative departments in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh have also been removed. The commission has also ordered the removal of Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, along with additional commissioners and deputy commissioners. It is important for all state governments to comply with these directives and transfer officers involved in election-related work who have completed three years or are in their home districts. Maharashtra, however, has not fully complied with these instructions. The commission has expressed its dissatisfaction to the state chief secretary and has directed the transfer of BMC and the additional and deputy commissioners, with a deadline of 6 pm on Monday for reporting.
