Patiala, April 12 (Press ki taquat bureau): Sukhbir Singh Badal, the SAD chief, emphasized the need for DNA tests for new BJP members and reiterated that his party represents Punjab. Badal made these remarks while welcoming Sumrinder Singh Sira into the Shiromani Akali Dal, without directly naming anyone.
The statement followed the BJP joining of Gurpreet Singh Maluka and Parampal Kaur Sidhu, the son and daughter-in-law of SAD leader Sikandar Singh Maluka, in Delhi. Badal urged support for SAD in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, highlighting the party’s long history and commitment to fighting oppression.
He criticized national parties like BJP, Congress, and AAP for prioritizing power over development, urging voters to protect Punjab’s interests by voting for SAD. Badal also condemned the BJP government in Haryana for using force against farmers and restricting their movement towards Delhi.
