Kolkata, April 22 (Press ki taquat bureau): The Calcutta High Court has nullified all appointments made through the State Level Selection Test-2016 in West Bengal Government-sponsored schools, ordering a fresh recruitment process to be initiated by the West Bengal School Service Commission. The court has directed the CBI to conduct further investigation into the appointment process and submit a report within three months, following concerns raised about the validity of the appointments made.
Despite over 23 lakh candidates appearing for the SLST-2016 for 24,640 vacant posts, the court found the appointments to be null and void, with 25,753 appointment letters issued against the vacancies. The division bench rejected a plea for a stay on the order and the SSC Chairman mentioned that the commission will challenge the high court verdict in the Supreme Court after reviewing the complete order.
