New Delhi, April 23 (Press ki taquat bureau): The conflict between Russia and Ukraine is anticipated to escalate further with the United States ready to provide military support to Ukraine, as stated by Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Press Secretary. The US Department of Defence released the comments made by Maj Gen Ryder on Tuesday morning. Maj Gen Ryder mentioned the approval of the ‘supplemental budget legislation’ by the US House of Representatives, the lower Chamber of the US Congress.
The bill will be reviewed by the US Senate this week before being signed by President Joe Biden. Ryder emphasized that this legislation will enhance the security of the United States, its allies, and partners. The passing of this legislation serves as a clear message to Russian President Vladimir Putin that his assumption of the disintegration of the group supporting Ukraine against the Russian invasion was incorrect, according to the general. This week, US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin and Air Force Gen CQ Brown will convene the 21st meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group on Friday.
The group, consisting of 50 nations, has remained united in opposition to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. On Saturday, the US House of Representatives approved a substantial aid package of $60 billion and $26 billion for Ukraine and Israel, respectively. The aid for Israel includes $9 billion allocated for Gaza. The financial assistance for Ukraine is crucial as the country faces resource depletion and was expected to lose more territory to Russian forces, resulting in casualties. The legislation will enable the US Department of Defence to provide essential security assistance to support Ukraine effectively.
