Mumbai, 19 February (press ki taquat bureau): Actor-director Riteish Deshmukh revealed his upcoming directorial project ‘Raja Shivaji’, focusing on the life of Maratha empire founder Shivaji. The bilingual film will showcase the journey of a young Shivaji who defied powerful forces to become the revered Raja Shivaji, as per a press release from the creators.
The 45-year-old Deshmukh will portray the lead role of Maharashtra’s legendary warrior, expressing his long-held aspiration to create a movie centered on Shivaji. Deshmukh emphasized that Shivaji Maharaj is not just a historical figure but an embodiment of valor and hope that has inspired generations for centuries.
In celebration of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj jayanti, Deshmukh unveiled the poster of ‘Raja Shivaji’. The historical action drama is a collaboration between Jio Studios and Deshmukh’s Mumbai Film Company. Deshmukh’s wife Genelia, who is also a producer, expressed that bringing Shivaji Maharaj’s life story to the screen has been their ultimate ambition.
