Chandigarh, 23 february (press ki taquat bureau): Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared a compensation of Rs 1 crore and a government job for the sister of farmer Shubhkaran Singh, who lost his life at the Khanauri border.
Singh, aged 21 and from Bathinda, was fatally injured during clashes at the Khanauri border, resulting in his death and injuries to 12 police personnel.The Punjab government will provide financial aid of Rs 1 crore to the family of Shubhkaran Singh and offer a government job to his younger sister, in addition to pursuing legal action against the perpetrators, as stated by Mann in Punjabi.
Farmer leaders had requested compensation and employment for Singh’s family, as well as the registration of a case against those accountable for his demise, along with seeking “martyr” status for him.
The post-mortem of Singh was delayed due to demands made by farmers, who were adamant about their requests being met before proceeding.The chief minister expressed his sorrow over the farmer’s death and assured that strict measures would be taken against those found responsible for the tragic incident.
