Patna: The 2025 Bihar Assembly elections have emerged as a crucial benchmark for the incumbent Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar. Over the past two decades, Kumar has adeptly navigated the political landscape of Bihar, consistently delivering on his promises to enhance rural infrastructure and provide direct financial support to citizens. This approach has fostered a sense of trust among voters across various socio-economic backgrounds, who appreciate tangible progress over mere political rhetoric. The elections witnessed an impressive voter turnout of 67.13 percent, marking the highest participation rate since Bihar’s inaugural assembly election in 1951. The first phase of polling on November 6 recorded a turnout of 65.08 percent, while the second phase on November 11 saw an even more remarkable 69.20 percent engagement. As the counting of votes progresses across all 46 constituencies in Bihar, early indications suggest that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is significantly ahead of the Mahagathbandhan. By early afternoon, the NDA was leading in 198 seats compared to the Mahagathbandhan’s 39 seats, with final results anticipated by the evening. Current tallies for various parties show the BJP with 90 seats, JDU with 79, LJP(RV) at 20, HAM and RLM each with 4, RJD at 30, Congress with 5, Left parties at 5, Jan Suraaj with none, and AIMIM also at 5.
