The declaration of 67 candidates by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the party has encountered significant dissent throughout the state. Notable figures such as Karan Dev Kamboj, the chief of the OBC Morcha, Sukhvinder Sheoran, the head of the Kisan Morcha, and Laxman Napa, the MLA from Ratia, have all opted to resign from their positions within the party. In response to this turmoil, state minister Ranjit Singh has convened a meeting with his supporters scheduled for Thursday, aiming to strategize on the next steps to take. Previously, Ranjit Singh had expressed his determination to run for election “with or without the BJP,” indicating his commitment to pursue his political ambitions regardless of the party’s internal challenges.
