chandigarh, 23 february (press ki taquat bureau): The fifth consecutive budget was presented by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in the Assembly on Friday, outlining various measures for farmers’ welfare, such as waiving interest and penalties for farmers clearing their loans by May 2024.
During the presentation of the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, Khattar highlighted that 14 crops would be procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP) to support agricultural activities.
Khattar also noted a significant 8.1% increase in agricultural production in 2023-24, among the highest in the country, and mentioned that the government had already disbursed Rs 29,876 crore directly to farmers’ accounts during the kharif and rabi seasons of 2023.
