Taipei, May 3 (Press ki taquat bureau): China is making preparations for the launch of a lunar probe that will land on the far side of the moon and bring back samples for scientific research. This mission is part of China’s ambitious space exploration program, which is now competing with the United States. In 2019, China became the first country to successfully land a rover on the moon’s far side. The far side of the moon offers unique opportunities for radio astronomy and other scientific studies due to its lack of exposure to Earth and other interference. To maintain communication, a relay satellite is required since the far side never faces Earth. The upcoming launch of the Chang’e lunar exploration probe, named after the Chinese moon goddess, is scheduled for Friday evening from the Wenchang launch centre in Hainan province. China has already made significant achievements in lunar exploration, including the return of samples from the moon’s near side in 2020, which revealed the presence of water. Additionally, three Chinese astronauts recently returned from a six-month mission on the country’s orbiting space station.
