New Delhi, May 31 (Press ki taquat bureau): The Delhi government has recently taken legal action by approaching the Supreme Court in order to request Haryana to increase the supply of water to the crisis-stricken national capital. This move comes as a response to the escalating water demand in Delhi, primarily attributed to the prevailing heatwave conditions.
According to sources, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi has emphasized to the apex court the urgent need for additional water supply to meet the escalating demands of the city. The government has specifically called for neighbouring Haryana to release extra water for a duration of one month to address the water scarcity issue in Delhi.
The city government of Delhi has underscored the importance of collective efforts in addressing the water requirements of the national capital. It has stressed that ensuring an adequate water supply is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation from all stakeholders involved.
In a separate development, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has made a direct appeal to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to intervene and instruct the governments of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to provide additional water to Delhi for a period of one month. This plea reflects the pressing need for immediate action to alleviate the water shortage crisis in the city.
