Gurdaspur/Jalandhar, May 24 (Press ki taquat bureau): Just hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two rallies in Punjab, police conducted raids on the houses and hideouts of several farm leaders in Gurdaspur and Jalandhar, including Nurmahal and Phillaur, resulting in the arrest of a few individuals. The Prime Minister is scheduled to address a public meeting in Gurdaspur at 3.30 pm and another in Jalandhar at 5.30 pm. Peasants have threatened to disrupt the PM’s visit and plan to show black flags during his journey from the helipad to the rally venue, which is a three-kilometer distance. The raids were carried out based on specific information, but no arrests have been made as the leaders had already left their homes. The police are currently in communication with the farm leaders to negotiate the cancellation of their protests. The road leading to the rally site is heavily guarded.
