Chandigarh, A dense blanket of fog shrouded North India on Friday morning, resulting in a complete loss of visibility. This persistent fog has led to the cancellation and delay of numerous flights and trains over the past few weeks across the region. In the Delhi-NCR area, the reduced visibility caused delays for over 150 flights, averaging a wait time of 41 minutes, alongside disruptions to approximately 26 trains. In a statement regarding the ongoing situation, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) confirmed that flight operations had been significantly affected by the thick fog. Nevertheless, DIAL provided reassurance to anxious travelers, indicating that flights equipped with CAT III technology are still able to land and take off from the airport. Furthermore, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings regarding moderate to very dense fog conditions for several regions in North India, including Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan.
