New Delhi, July 12 (Press ki taquat bureau):  The interim bail granted to Arvind Kejriwal by the Supreme Court on Friday in connection to a money-laundering case linked to the excise policy ‘scam’ will not result in his release from Tihar Jail, as he has also been arrested by the CBI in a corruption case related to the same scam.

Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta of the Supreme Court referred certain legal issues regarding the arrest of an accused under Section 19 and Section 45 of the PMLA to a larger Bench. Justice Khanna emphasized that the decision on Kejriwal’s regular bail plea would be based on merit, as the court pronounced its verdict on the Delhi chief minister’s petition challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate.
