The Israeli Defense Forces reported that on Monday, they targeted 300 locations in Lebanon, marking one of the most significant airstrike offensives in nearly a year of ongoing conflict with the Hezbollah militant organization. According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, this assault resulted in the deaths of 100 individuals and left over 400 others injured, making it the deadliest day in Lebanon since the onset of hostilities in October. Prior to this recent escalation, which was ignited by a series of explosive incidents last Tuesday, approximately 600 fatalities had been recorded in Lebanon since October, predominantly among combatants, but also including more than 100 civilian casualties. The Israeli military shared details of the operation via social media, featuring an image purportedly showing military chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi sanctioning further strikes from the command center in Tel Aviv. In light of the recent developments, Halevi and other Israeli officials have vowed to implement more stringent measures against Hezbollah in the days ahead.
