March 16 (Press Ki Taquat Bureau): The Election Commission has announced the program for the Lok Sabha elections. The tenure of the current Lok Sabha ends on June 16 and the new Lok Sabha has to be formed before that. The legislative assemblies of Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Odisha are ending on different dates in June.
Last time Lok Sabha election dates were announced on March 10 and voting was held in seven phases from April 11. The counting of votes was done on May 23. In 2014 too, the Election Commission had given information a day in advance by calling a press conference to announce the election programme. The invitation letters for the press conference were sent to the journalists a day earlier in the evening.
Announcing the date of the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission said that the elections will be held in 7 phases and the results will be announced on June 4. Let us tell you that voting will be held in two phases in Odisha. Odisha will vote on May 13 and 20.
Lok Sabha elections will start from April 19 with the first phase. After this, the second phase will take place on April 26. The results of these Lok Sabha elections will be declared on 4 June 2024.
