JANUARY 30,2024 (press ki taquat bureau):

Death anniversary of mahatma gandhi 2024: Every year on January 30th, the nation observes Martyrs Day in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary. However, in India, Martyrs Day is celebrated twice a year, once on January 30th and again on March 23rd. This raises the question as to why Martyrs Day is observed twice in a year. Let us explain the reason behind it and the significance of this day in history. The martyrdom day celebrated on 30th January is dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, who walked on the path of truth and non-violence to bring independence to the country. It was on 30th January 1948 that Mahatma Gandhi was shot and killed. After Gandhi’s demise, his death anniversary started being observed as Martyrdom Day. This day is remembered as a very sad day.On 23rd March, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev were hanged, and to commemorate their sacrifice, Martyrs’ Day is observed. On this day, tributes are paid to these martyrs. Various educational institutions, government and non-governmental organizations organize silent gatherings on this occasion and offer prayers for the peace of the souls of the brave.1. Every year on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, which falls on January 30th, Mahatma Gandhi is remembered. On this occasion, the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Defense Minister, and all three Chiefs of the Armed Forces pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at his memorial at Rajghat. Even the soldiers of the armed forces bow down their weapons in tribute to the Father of the Nation and in remembrance of Bapu.
