The initial trends from the vote counting of the bypolls for four Assembly segments in Punjab on Saturday indicated that the Aam Aadmi Party was in the lead for the Chabbewal and Gidderbaha constituencies, while the Congress party was showing a favorable position in the Dera Baba Nanak and Barnala segments. These bypolls, which were conducted on November 20, became necessary following the election of the sitting legislators to the Lok Sabha earlier this year.
