Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conducted an extensive assessment of the national security landscape on Friday, engaging with senior military leaders just a day after thwarting Pakistan’s attempts to strike Indian military installations. The meeting, which included prominent figures such as Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, and Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, focused on various facets of the rapidly changing security environment. This review followed a significant incident where Indian forces successfully neutralized a coordinated assault by the Pakistani military, which aimed to target military stations in Jammu, Pathankot, Udhampur, and other strategic locations using missiles and drones. In response to these provocations, the Defence Ministry reaffirmed India’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and ensuring the safety of its citizens, highlighting the effectiveness of the Indian armed forces in countering the threats posed by Pakistani drones and missiles. Notably, this latest attempt by Pakistan to compromise Indian military security occurred less than 24 hours after a previous offensive, which had also been successfully repelled, underscoring the ongoing tensions in the region.
