New Delhi: US President Donald Trump took to social media to announce that Iran and Israel have reached an agreement for a phased ceasefire to take effect within 24 hours, asserting that both countries have consented to completely cease hostilities. However, this claim was promptly refuted by Iranian officials, who stated that no such proposal had been received and that there is no justification for a ceasefire at this time. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi emphasized that it was Israel that instigated the conflict, not Iran, and further clarified that there is currently no consensus regarding a ceasefire or any cessation of military actions.

In a strong rebuttal to the notion of a ceasefire, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei firmly stated that Iran is not a nation that capitulates. He highlighted that those who are acquainted with the Iranian people and their historical resilience would recognize that they do not yield to pressure or intimidation. Khamenei’s remarks underscore a deep-seated national pride and a commitment to standing firm in the face of adversity, reinforcing the idea that surrender is not an option for Iran.
