New Delhi, March 2 (press ki taquat bureau): A trilateral accord involving TIPRA Motha and the administrations of Tripura and India was formally executed on Saturday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the issues faced by the indigenous population of the state.
Shah emphasized that by ratifying the agreement, the government has acknowledged historical grievances, rectified past errors, and embraced the current reality to pave the way for a more promising future. The pact aims to peacefully address concerns regarding the history, land rights, political autonomy, economic progress, cultural preservation, and language of Tripura’s indigenous communities.
Shah reassured all stakeholders in Tripura that they will no longer have to struggle for their rights, as the Indian government is committed to proactively establishing protective measures. He highlighted the importance of learning from past mistakes and moving forward, acknowledging that while history cannot be altered, lessons can be drawn from it.
The Home Minister commended the constructive role played by TIPRA Motha and other tribal parties, as well as the earnest efforts of the BJP-led government in Tripura towards reaching this agreement. The signing took place at North Block, marking a significant step towards addressing the concerns of the indigenous population in Tripura.
