Chandigarh, May 26 (Press ki taquat bureau): Following the conclusion of the polling, the Nayab Singh Saini-led “minority” government in the state is expected to face further challenges as their representation in the Vidhan Sabha has decreased to 42 out of the current 87-member House. Opposition parties are reportedly preparing to exert pressure for a floor test, particularly with the BJP’s reduced numbers after the death of Badshahpur MLA Rakesh Daultabad, who was supporting the BJP government. The BJP now has 40 MLAs in the 87-member House, with the support of one Independent MLA and the sole MLA of the Haryana Lokhit Party. On the other hand, the Congress, with 30 MLAs, has the support of three Independent MLAs who withdrew their support from the Saini government and extended it to the Congress. The INLD MLA and an Independent MLA are also part of the Opposition, and it remains to be seen which way they will lean in a trust vote. The JJP, with 10 MLAs, has some members who have rebelled against the leadership and has offered “outside” support to the Congress, although some rebels are in contact with either the BJP or the Congress.
