Minister Prahilad Joshi announced today that the final budget session of the 17th Lok Sabha will take place between January 31st and February 9th. During this period, the interim central budget will be presented. The new government, which will be formed after the Lok Sabha elections in April-May, will present the full budget later. The term of the 17th Lok Sabha will end on June 16th, so this will be the last session of Parliament before the announcement of the general elections. The announcement for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 was made on March 10th, and voting took place in seven phases from April 11th to May 19th.
The interim budget will be presented in the 17th Lok Sabha’s final budget session, starting from the 31st.
