In a pioneering move towards modernization, the Municipal Corporation of Ludhiana has introduced an online asset management system designed to enhance the tracking and management of its assets, thereby improving operational efficiency. This innovative system will digitize all records related to the civic body, encompassing inventory, properties, documentation, vehicles, and infrastructure throughout the city. Additionally, it will facilitate the documentation of various development projects undertaken by the corporation. According to MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, the new online platform will operate through a centralized SAP application, effectively replacing the outdated manual record-keeping methods. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to foster transparency and efficiency within the organization. By maintaining all records online, the Municipal Corporation will not only streamline its operations but also enable accurate financial valuation of its assets. The establishment of a central database will further empower the MC to analyze data more effectively, ultimately leading to better decision-making and resource allocation.
