Dr. Navjot Dhaiya on Friday assumed the charge as Chairperson of the newly constituted Punjab State Commission for General Category (PSCGC) in the presence of Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Channi said that this Commission would go a long way to safeguard the interests of the unreserved classes besides effective implementation of various welfare schemes for the benefit of poor belonging to unreserved classes.
Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included Cabinet Ministers Pargat Singh and Raj Kumar Verka besides MLA Balachaur Chaudhary Darshan Lal Mangupur.
Pertinently, Dr. Navjot Dhaiya a Jalandhar based renowned consultant orthopedic and joint replacement surgeon is also National Vice-President Indian Medical Association besides he also remained President of IMA, Punjab.
It may be recalled that Dr. Navjot Dhaiya was appointed as Chairman of the PSCGC on December 29 in line with Cabinet’s decision on December 23, 2021 to constitute Punjab State Commission for General Category. This decision was taken after acceding the long standing demand of employees belonging to general categories (unreserved classes) that their interests are not being protected and have requested the state government to constitute the Commission.
