फ़िरोज़पुर/ गुरू हरसहाए,  9 अगस्त (प्रेस की ताकत ब्यूरो) : माता साहिब कौर पब्लिक स्कूल गुरू हरसहाए में पिछले तीन दिनों से चल रही 9वीं नेशनल गतका चैंपियनशिप की ओवरआल ट्राफी पंजाब ने जीत ली जबकि चंडीगढ़ स्टेट दूसरे स्थान पर और दिल्ली के तलवारबाज़ तीसरे स्थान पर रहे। इस तीन दिवसीय चैंपियनशिप में 16 राज्यों की टीमों के 535 पुरुष खिलाड़ियों और महिला खिलाड़ियों ने भाग लिया। विजेता खिलाड़ियों को इनामों का वितरण पंजाब के खेल मंत्री राणा गुरमीत सिंह सोढी द्वारा डिप्टी कमिशनर फ़िरोज़पुर गुरपाल सिंह चाहल और अनुमीत सिंह हीरा सोढी ने किया क्योंकि खेल मंत्री राणा सोढी की अपरिहार्य व्यस्तता के कारण डिप्टी कमिशनर बतौर मुख्य मेहमान और हीरा सोढी ने विशेष मेहमान के तौर पर शिरक्त की। इस मौके पर बोलते हुये डिप्टी कमिशनर गुरपाल सिंह चाहल ने कहा कि गतका पंजाब की विरासती और आत्म-रक्षा की खेल होने के कारण अधिक से अधिक बच्चों को इस खेल की तरफ प्रेरित होने की ज़रूरत है जिससे रिवायती खेल प्रफुल्लित हो सके। अपने संबोधन में हीरा सोढी ने कहा कि कि वह खेल मंत्री की तरफ से गतका ऐसोसीएशन को भरोसा दिलाते हैं कि गतका खेल की प्रफुल्लता में कोई कसर बाकी नहीं छोड़ी जायेगी। उन्होंने खेल मंत्री की तरफ़ से ऐलान किया कि गुरू हरसहाय में गतका ट्रेनिंग सैंटर और बच्चों को शारीरिक तंदुरुस्ती के लिए जिम को जल्द चालू किया जायेगा। उन्होंने नेशनल चैंपियनशिप करवाने के लिए गतका एसोसिएशन को पाँच लाख रुपए का ऐच्छिक अनुदान देने का भी ऐलान किया। इस मौके पर नेशनल गतका एसोसिएशन आफ इंडिया के प्रधान हरजीत सिंह ग्रेवाल और गतका एसोसिएशन पंजाब के प्रधान हरबीर सिंह दुग्गल ने भी खिलाड़ियों को गतके की प्राप्तियों के बारे रौशनी डाली। इस मौके पर दूसरों के इलावा प्रसिद्ध समाजसेवी आतमजीत सिंह डेविड, डा. प्रीतम सिंह मीत प्रधान नेशनल गतका ऐसोसीएशन, हरजिन्दर कुमार संयुक्त सचिव, बलजीत सिंह वित्त सचिव, कमल पाल सिंह प्रधान ज़िला गतका ऐसोसीएशन फ़िरोज़पुर और स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल डा. पंकज धमीजा भी मौजूद थे।
