Chandigarh, March 5 (press ki taquat bureau): During the Punjab Assembly’s budget session, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema presented a budget proposal of Rs 2,04,918 crore, marking the third budget of the Aam Aadmi Party government in the state.
Cheema stated that no new taxes have been imposed, with the government aiming for a total revenue receipt of Rs 1,03,936 crore in 2024-25, of which Rs 58,900 crore will come from own tax revenue. Additionally, the state will receive Rs 22,041 crore from central taxes and Rs 11,748 crore as Grants in Aid from the Centre.
Despite expectations of financial assistance for women above 18 years of age, the state’s fiscal health prevented the government from making this announcement. The Finance Minister also emphasized the government’s focus on education, health, sports, and infrastructure, while highlighting the achievements of the past year.
