Los Angeles, March 11 (press ki taquat bureau): Christopher Nolan secured his frontrunner position at the award show by winning his first Oscar for directing ‘Oppenheimer’ on Sunday night.
Despite receiving critical acclaim throughout his career, the 53-year-old British filmmaker had not previously won an Oscar.
Nolan expressed gratitude towards the Academy for the honor, acknowledging the significance of movies in the world of entertainment.
‘Oppenheimer’ emerged victorious by clinching the best picture award, accumulating a total of seven Oscars, with notable wins for actors Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr.
The film, which received 13 nominations, has achieved substantial commercial success, grossing close to $1 billion globally.
Nolan triumphed over other talented directors such as Jonathan Glazer, Yorgos Lanthimos, Martin Scorsese, and Justine Triet in the directing category.
