Canberra, April 23 (Press ki taquat bureau):   Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called on men and boys in the country to take responsibility for putting an end to the crisis of violence against women. Albanese emphasized that while the government is committed to tackling violence against women, it is crucial for men and boys to address the root causes of this issue. His statement came after a 29-year-old man, who was already on bail for another offense, was charged with the murder of a 28-year-old woman in New South Wales. According to the activist group Counting Dead Women, 25 women have lost their lives to violence in Australia in 2024 alone, including five victims in the recent stabbing spree at a Sydney shopping center. Albanese stressed the need for everyone to take responsibility for combating this scourge of violence against women, highlighting the alarming fact that more than one woman per week is being killed by someone they know, whether it be a partner or someone in a relationship. He emphasized the importance of men and boys engaging in discussions about these issues and showing respect towards women. When asked if he would declare violence against women a national emergency, Albanese acknowledged that the government has recognized this crisis for some time and has already allocated additional funding to provide safe spaces for women.
